Kung Fu Wisdom

So I downloaded the transcripts of the classic television show, Kung Fu and wondered what philosophical insight they might hold…

$ ack -i wisdom

250: What is cowardice but the body’s wisdom of its weakness.
251: What is bravery but the body’s wisdom of its strength.

$ ack -i truth

192: To suppress a truth is to give it force beyond endurance.

$ ack -i beauty

259: Under heaven, all can see beauty as beauty only because there is ugliness.

$ ack -i love

336: To know love, be like a running brook which deaf, yet sings its melody for others to hear.

$ ack -i time

417: How can strangers take on such importance to our souls? Because our soul does not keep time.

$ ack -i harmony

63: Discover harmony within.

$ ack -i trust

121: If, while building a house, a carpenter strikes a nail it proves faulty by bending does the carpenter lose faith in all nails and stop building his house? Then we are required to trust even if we are often reminded of the existence of evil.
